Notes from 9/27/07 radio interview:
“For she does not know that it was I who gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil, and lavished on her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.” Hosea 2:8
I have the book for research by Aleister Crowley, Eight Lectures on Yoga…yoga is very satanic. Aleister Crowley was known as the “father of Satanism”, and he did yoga meditations for his occult powers!
I quoted from another book which I have for research called L. Ron Hubbard, Messiah or Madman? L. Ron Hubbard believed he was the reincarnation of Crowley according to this book! (The book was co-written by L. Ron Hubbard, Jr. about his dad). On page 50 of the book it quotes from Crowley’s Book of the Law about “the serpent.” Who was the serpent to Crowley, and why is “serpent power” marketed in the media and American culture so much today? According to Crowley and New Agers the serpent is like Crowley described the snake in his Book of the Law:
“I am the snake that giveth knowledge and delight.”
It is interesting that the snake represents enlightenment and knowledge, except in the Bible where the snake symbolizes Satan! (see Revelation 12:9, 14).
Even the “wickedest man in the world”, as Aleister Crowley was called (p. 194, Messiah or Madman), loved “the cross.” Satan counterfeits even the cross. Crowley’s cross was “the rosy cross”, the cross of Rosicrucianism. The cross was depicted on Crowley’s tarot cards.
L. Ron Hubbard believed in reincarnation (p. 38, Messiah or Madman):
“I know with certainty where I was and who I was in the last 80 trillion years.”—L. Ron Hubbard.
Yet, God lets us know in the Bible that even demons don’t believe in reincarnation!! (see Matthew 8:29—they know their day of judgment is coming). Luke 16:26 shows that there is a great chasm between Heaven and Hell, and no one may cross over. It is impossible according to the Bible to believe that heaven and hell are places here on earth, as “lost souls” transmigrate in the air “trying to find their way” (this is a popular gospel at Venice Beach, CA; we have been told this as we have done mission work there).
Cultists and Satanists have something in common! They don’t believe in the Trinity. Anton LaVey, who penned The Satanic Rituals, wrote:
“The day of the cross and the Trinity are done.” (p. 127).
Yoga means “yoke”. We hand out a tract on yoga from www.livinglamb.com:
“Yoga philosophy maintains that yoga is a method for helping one achieve union of self consciousness with the “Universal Consciousness” (i.e., the chief Hindu deity, Brahma, the impersonal force of the universe.”
“Christian yoga” is an oxymoron! God does not take it lightly when we mix pagan practices with worshipping Him! Hosea 2:8 and 2:13. 1 Cor 10:21 is my favorite verse against this. Also, see Isaiah 1:13-15.
Peter Jones when he was interviewed by World Magazine on Gnosticsm ( http://www.cwipp.org ) said:
Dr. Jones:
Gnosticism is formed from the Greek term gnosis meaning knowledge, but it means here a particular form of knowledge, namely “spiritual experience.” Like all pagan spirituality, so-called “Christian” Gnosticsm engages in “sacred technologies” to access the higher, spiritual self, the self that is part of God. In this essentially out-of-body experience, all physical and this-worldly restraints, like rational thinking and a sense of specific gender, fall away. In a word, the experience of “enlightenment” is both the rejection of the goodness of the physical creation and an acquisition of the knowledge of the divinity of the human soul.
The goal of Gnostic sexuality is androgyny, the blending of male and female in one human being. The distinction of male and female is the result of the Fall, and so to undo the effects of the Fall one must join the opposites and make the two one. The “Jesus” of the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas declares, “when you make the male and female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female female…then you will enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Saying 22).
Dr. Jones is asked:
“Why does Gnosticism emphasize meditation, mantras, and extreme mysticism?
Dr. Jones answers:
These are what modern pagans call “spiritual technologies” that allow one to escape the clutches of physical reality in order to pass into the world of pure spirit, outside of the body. In this world of pure spirit all is one, all distinctions are eliminated. The essential presupposition for the attainment of this state is stopping the mind from engaging in rational thought. This is necessary since thought is a great factory of distinctions, where each word has its own meaning, without which one cannot think or speak. Meditation “silences the mind” and ushers one into a world of “oneness.”
The “evangelical feminists” at Christians for Biblical Equality are also teaching this:
“We may speak of God as Father or as Mother”—Mimi Haddad, president of Christians for Biblical Equality (Source: “What Language Shall We Use?” www.cbeinternational.org )
Isaiah 65:2: “I have spread out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:7-8: “Let the wicked man forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts…for My thoughts are not your thoughts…”
We are to love the Lord with all of our mind: Matthew 22:37-38.
We don’t get the truth from within:
Matthew 15:18-19—the heart is evil
Richard Foster from his book Celebration of Discipline:
“We can descend with the mind into the heart most easily through the imagination…”
This is not biblical! 1 John 4:1
The spirit of the world is not God: 1 Cor. 2:12
Satan is the prince of the power of the air: Ephesians 2:2
Be on guard against “what is falsely called knowledge” 1 Timothy 6:20-21
“Jesus People” at Cornerstone, 2006 taught in the “Imaginarium” tent that “saints” levitated in church history. This is not biblical. There is a difference in the ascension of Jesus, which took Him into another stratosphere, and levitations done in witchcraft and astral projection soul travel.
From JPUSA literature (Cornerstone, 2006):
“We embrace the challenge to live as church without walls, living openly amongst unbelievers and other believers in a way that the life of God in ours can be seen, challenged or questioned. This will involve us building friendships outside our Christian ghettos or club mentality, not with ulterior evangelistic motives, but because we genuinely care.”
Compare that statement to what the Bible says!
1 Cor. 9:16-- “Woe is me if I do not preach the Gospel”
2 Cor. 4:5—We do not preach ourselves but Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
2Cor. 11:2—“For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.”
