There is a time for strong language: Matthew 24, 2 Cor. 10:10
2 Cor. 4:2-4—We renounce the HIDDEN THINGS (v. 2)—No” secret” to understanding the Bible! THE ENEMY has blinded their eyes (v. 4)
2 Cor. 5:16—We recognize no man according to the flesh
Test the spirits—1 John 4:1
False prophets exploit with FALSE WORDS: 2 Peter 2:2 to MALIGN THE TRUTH; 2 Peter 2:3—false words—judgment from long ago is not idle—false teachers are “knowledgeable” people…
Gal. 1—different gospel…if anyone brings a different gospel let him be accursed
2 Timothy 4:14-15—Paul named names of false teachers and said to be on guard against false teaching contrary to the Bible; SHOULD WE NAME NAMES? 2 Timothy 4:14 says Paul warned about “Alexander the Coppersmith” who did him much harm and said to “be on guard against HIM” (verse 15), Paul said, “for he vigorously opposed our teaching.” Demonic spirits are strong (but defeated by the Holy Spirit)
We are commanded to rebuke—2 Timothy 4:2
1 Timothy 6:3-12—If anyone advocates another doctrine….(verse 4) with “disputes about WORDS” and “evil suspicions”…we are to stay away…we are not called to “peace” without “fighting the good fight” for truth –verse 12 says we are to “fight the good fight of faith” not just agree and “love” and be at “peace” with error. If we love Jesus how can we accept a lie about Him so easily?
1 Timothy 6:16—good verse for demons/counterfeit spirits. Demons are jealous, wanting glory that is only God’s. This verse refers to God’s glory.
1 Timothy 6:20-21—WE MUST BE ON GUARD AGAINST “what is falsely called KNOWLEDGE”; we must GUARD WHAT HAS BEEN ENTRUSTED TO US. Our faith as Christians is not passive but an active faith.
People are worshipping Jesus in vain: Mark 7:6-7: “In vain do they worship Me.”
We are commanded to LEAVE FALSE TEACHING: 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
1 Timothy 4:16-PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO YOURSELF AND TO YOUR TEACHING: we are called to a battle
HOLD FAST TO THAT WHICH WE HAVE HEARD FROM THE BEGINNING: 1 John 1:1
Our battle is not against flesh and blood—2 Cor. 10:4-5
The antichrist attacks: God and His people—Daniel 7:25 “he will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One…”
Demons attack the doctrine of hell. Is there a hell? Revelation 20, 21:8, Matt., 25:41,46; 10:28; 16:23
Even demons don’t believe in reincarnation: Matthew 8:29 “And behold they cried out, ‘What do we have to do with You, Son of God? Have You come to torment us before our time?’” Demons know there will be a day of judgment for them, and they know there is a hell!
Other verses against reincarnation: Luke 16:26—Between heaven and hell there is a great chasm THAT NO ONE MAY CROSS OVER FROM THERE. There is no chance of “lost souls trying to find their way” from one domain to another, just floating around like the occult teaches. Heaven and hell are not here on earth as occult teaches—this verse shows that there is no way to pass from heaven to hell or from hell to heaven. Also see Phil 1:21 (for me to live is Christ, and to die is gain): Hebrews 9:27 (It is appointed to man ONCE TO DIE AND THEN THE JUDGMENT); see 2 Cor. 5:8 (to be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord)
Demons attack the name of Jesus. Philippians 2:9-11—every knee shall bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord
Philippians 3:20—Our citizenship is in heaven
People are not equal to Jesus! He subjects ALL THINGS to Himself: Phil. 3:21
There is a different Jesus being taught, different gospel and different spirit: 2 Cor. 11:4, 14
God is opposed to the proud: 1 Peter 5:5
People are victims of Satan: 1 Peter 5:8 he seeks people to “devour”
Our sanctification is God’s work: 1 Peter 5:10: no one can “work on his or her spirit”; it is God’s work by His mercy—only regenerated people are filled with the Holy Spirit; it is a gift of God to not be offended by the Bible and the Holy Spirit SEE 1 PETER 2:8; JOHN 6:61, AND “NO ONE CAN COME TO ME UNLESS IT HAS BEEN GRANTED TO HIM FROM THE FATHER” JOHN 6:65
OUR PROBLEMS COME FROM WITHIN! Mark 7:20-23; the answer is NOT to look “within”
Demons use the Bible to pervert the Bible: 2 Peter 3:16-17
Beware of people “holding to a form of godliness” who are “always seeking never coming to the knowledge of truth” 2 Timothy 3:1-7 (New Agers are always seeking…)
2 Timothy 3:14—CONTINUE in the things you have learned. V. 16—ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD.
We should speak with authority: 2 Cor. 10:8-10, with “boldness” in our speech: 2 Cor. 3:12
We do not boast beyond our measure: 2 Cor. 10:13-15
Should we all be at peace? NO. Light has NO FELLOWSHIP WITH DARKNESS: 2 Cor. 6:14-18; WE ARE NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE UNFRUITFUL DEEDS OF DARKNESS BUT EXPOSE THEM: Ephesians 5:11
JESUS IS OUR PEACE: Ephesians 2:14
GOD IS AT WAR WITH SINNERS: John 3:36
THE GOD OF PEACE WILL SOON CRUSH SATAN UNDER OUR FEET! Romans 16:20
Depravity of people: they are of their father the devil apart from salvation: John 8:44 and a slave to sin: John 8:34. MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE WHO ARE NOT SAVED: John 2:24! V. 23-24: “Now when He was at Jerusalem at the Passover during the feast, MANY BELIEVED IN HIS NAME, beholding His signs which He was doing. BUT JESUS, ON HIS PART, WAS NOT ENTRUSTING HIMSELF TO THEM, FOR HE KNEW ALL MEN.”
